Adeleke Takes Charge: Orders an Uplifting Review of Staff Auditing Process

Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, Orders Immediate Review of Ongoing Staff Audit

In a bid to enhance and protect the welfare of workers, Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has ordered an immediate review of the ongoing staff audit across the state public service. The governor expressed his commitment to ensuring the well-being and comfort of the workforce during a joint meeting with labour leaders and the auditing firm on Thursday evening.

The staff audit exercise, which was previously halted as civil servants refused to be audited and staged a walkout, has caused inconvenience among public servants. Governor Adeleke, having listened to the representatives of labour and other stakeholders, expressed his displeasure at the situation and instructed the Head of Service to make necessary adjustments to address this challenge.

During the meeting, Governor Adeleke highlighted the purpose of the audit exercise, which is to block leakages and expand staff welfare. He directed the joint committee responsible for the exercise to create an acceptable timetable that takes into account the diversity and peculiarities of each government agency or ministry. Additionally, the committee was urged to consider decentralization of the exercise on a zonal basis in order to reduce the burden and logistics of movement to the capital city.

  1. Create a new acceptable timetable that accommodates the diversity and peculiarities of government agencies and ministries.
  2. Brainstorm on the decentralization of the exercise on a zonal basis to reduce the burden and logistics of movements to the capital city.

Recognizing the importance of the auditing exercise, both labour and establishment leaders accepted the rationale behind it. Governor Adeleke called on all stakeholders to collaborate and ensure the successful completion of the program. He assured everyone of his government’s partnership and brotherhood with the labour movement, emphasizing that it would never act against the best interests of public servants.

“Let all stakeholders go back to the drawing board and make necessary adjustments. This is a government in love with labour, workers, artisans, women, youth, and others. We will never act against the best interest of the public servants,” Adeleke stressed.
