Adesina Reveals: Kukah Frustrated by Buhari’s Lack of Patronage

Femi Adesina, a former spokesman for ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, has made a fiery statement about the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, Matthew Kukah. Adesina claims that Kukah is still bitter about the fact that he was not given special treatment by Buhari during his presidency. This comes after Kukah criticized the Buhari administration for being the worst when it comes to corruption in Nigeria.

The controversial comments were made by Kukah during his keynote speech at an important legal event in Ado Ekiti. He argued that while corruption did not begin under the previous administration, it was amplified during the Buhari government’s eight-year rule. Kukah also mentioned that human rights lawyer Femi Falana had written a series of articles on the topic.

  1. Adesina responded to Kukah’s remarks on Twitter, saying, “Who listens to that Bishop again? He’s still pained that he got no under-the-cassock patronage from Buhari, unlike in the past. As e dey pain them, e dey sweet us.” This suggests that Adesina believes Kukah’s criticism stems from personal disappointment rather than genuine concern about corruption in the country.

These strong words from Adesina highlight the ongoing tension between the two individuals and further polarize public opinion. It remains to be seen how Kukah and others will respond to Adesina’s statement, but one thing is clear: this debate is far from over.
