President Tinubu Hosts Business Tycoons Bill Gates and Aliko Dangote at the State House
In a bid to strengthen Nigeria’s healthcare and development sector, President Bola Tinubu recently played host to two of the world’s most renowned philanthropists, Bill Gates and Aliko Dangote.
During the meeting held in the State House in Abuja, both parties discussed issues bordering on global health and development, focusing on how Nigeria can benefit from ongoing innovations targeted at advancing the welfare of citizens.
Speaking on the purpose of the visit, a representative of the Gates Foundation emphasized the foundation’s commitment to working closely with leaders and communities to promote innovation in Nigeria.
This move comes weeks after Tinubu – who recently assumed office as president of Nigeria – hosted several top executives from different sectors, including Sunil Bharti Mittal, the Chairman of Bhanti Artel Worldwide, who visited along with the Chief Executive Officer of Airtel Nigeria, Dr. Segun Ogunsanya, alongside other members of the company’s board.
Tinubu also held a meeting with Ambassador Geoffrey Praytt, the United States Assistant Secretary of State, Bureau of Energy Resources, as well as with Mele Kolo Kyari, the GCEO-NNPC.
It is hoped that these high-level meetings and collaborations with industry giants such as Bill Gates and Aliko Dangote will yield significant growth opportunities for Nigeria, particularly in developing and advancing its healthcare systems.
In related news, Dangote, during a public event, urged African countries to adopt the visa-on-arrival policy to promote intra-Africa trade.
