Princewill Chimezie Richards, a pro-Biafra agitation leader, has accused ex-Niger Delta militant leader, Asari Dokubo of plotting to take over the oil pipeline security contract currently owned by Government Ekpemupolo, also known as Tompolo.
A new twist has emerged in the Nigerian political sphere as Princewill Chimezie Richards, a pro-Biafra agitation leader accuses ex-Niger Delta militant leader, Asari Dokubo of plotting to take over the oil pipeline security contract of Tompolo. Asari Dokubo is known for his vocal support of President Bola Tinubu and has recently received attention after meeting with him.
Recall that after meeting with Tinubu, Dokubo had asserted while speaking to State House correspondents on Friday, that freeing Nnamdi Kanu would be equivalent to endorsing criminal behaviour.
This is coming off the heels of what seems to be discordance among the political elite in Nigeria over the issue of Nnamdi Kanu. Asari Dokubo has openly criticized the possibility of Kanu getting freed, stating that it would be like endorsing criminal behavior.
“His main mission to Aso Villa is to beg for a contract, and very soon, Tompolo’s contract will be terminated. Let’s see if he is Tinubu’s godfather,” he said
Princewill went ahead to tag Asari Dokubo a double-standard player, implying that his quest for the pipeline contract could influence his political stance on several issues. He added that Dokubo’s visit to Tinubu’s place was mainly to beg for the contract, which is currently owned by Tompolo.
He added: “I know him. He never stands on anything, was it not a few days ago he was shouting that Senate President should go to the South East as if it’s of any importance to the people of the region. Now he has changed his mouth that the South East got what they deserved.”
Princewill didn’t stop there as he further accused Asari Dokubo of inconsistency and political chameleonic behavior. Dokubo had said that the Senate President should go to the Southeast, which Princewill describes as meaningless platitudes that won’t change anything. He further accused Asari of flying with the wind, using the present situation as an example where he changes his political stance so fast.
The Nigerian political space keeps buzzing with many controversies, and the Asari Dokubo issue is just adding to the mix. While some believe there is an internal political tussle going on, others think it’s just a case of rotten apples. Only time will tell how it all plays out.
