Bloody Showdown in Rivers: Six Suspected Kidnappers Killed, Six Apprehended

The Rivers State Police Command has killed six suspected kidnappers in a raid on their hideout around the Emohua axis of the East-West Road in the state.

Successful Raid Leads to Arrests

The Rivers State Police Command has announced a major breakthrough in their fight against kidnapping in the state. In a recent raid on a hideout along the East-West Road, police forces managed to kill six suspected kidnappers. The operation, which took place on Wednesday, also resulted in the arrest of six other individuals believed to be part of the same criminal syndicate. The state Commissioner of Police, Nwonyi Emeka, addressed reporters in Port Harcourt on Friday to provide details about the successful raid.

Emeka noted that his men in the Anti-cult and tactical teams were responsible for the successful operation.

Cracking Down on Criminals

Commissioner Nwonyi Emeka credited the success of the operation to the diligent work of the Anti-cult and tactical teams within the police force. These officers played a crucial role in uncovering and neutralizing the kidnappers’ hideout, ensuring the safety of the community.

Ongoing Efforts

Commissioner Emeka also highlighted recent victories in the police force’s efforts to combat crime. One notable arrest was that of Baridara Barodam, aka Ojukwu, from Boku in Gokhana LGA. The suspect, who was on the police’s wanted list, was apprehended by the Anti-cultism team in the Bori Annex. This apprehension is seen as another win in the ongoing effort to bring criminals to justice.

Exhibits recovered from the various arrests and crime scenes at Hospital Road, Bonny LGA, Boku, Bori, Khana, illicit gun sales outlets in Obio Akpor and a foiled kidnap scene in GRA Port Harcourt include locally fabricated arms, cut-to-size guns, a skull, cartridges, hard drugs suspected to be “ice” (crystal methamphetamine), and army camouflage, among others.

Recovering Valuable Evidence

The police force’s relentless pursuit of criminals has resulted in the recovery of numerous exhibits from various arrests and crime scenes. Among the items confiscated are locally fabricated arms, cut-to-size guns, a skull, cartridges, and suspected hard drugs known as “ice” or crystal methamphetamine. The police also discovered army camouflage during their investigations. These valuable pieces of evidence will undoubtedly aid in further cracking down on criminal activities in Rivers State.
