US announces $205m more humanitarian aid to Ukraine
The United States has declared an additional $205 million in humanitarian aid to Ukraine to help decrease food shortage, lack of drinking water, and other essential necessities as it fights against Russia’s invasion.
“We continue to call for an immediate end to Russia’s war of aggression and for Russia to facilitate unhindered access to providers of humanitarian assistance in Ukraine and safe passage for those who seek to move to safer areas,”
US top diplomat, Antony Blinken, announced that the aid would be channelled by partner non-governmental organisations in the area to further support victims of the conflict to maintain contact with their separated family members.
The US State Department has reported that more than six million have fled Ukraine since Russia’s invasion in February 2022, with more than five million internally displaced.
