Customs Launches Investigation Into Shocking Assault on Katsina Governor’s Aide

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has initiated an investigation into an alleged attack on Jabiru Tsauri, the Chief of Staff to the Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda. Tsauri reportedly escaped the attack by suspected Customs personnel on July 13 while en route to Abuja. In response to the incident, Governor Radda has strongly condemned it and has called for a thorough investigation to ensure justice is served. The safety and security of public officials and citizens are of utmost importance, and any violation of this fundamental right will not be tolerated.

“Gov. Radda has vehemently condemned the incident and called for a thorough investigation to ensure that justice is served,” said the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed. “The safety and security of public officials and citizens remain of utmost importance, and any violation of this fundamental right will not be tolerated.”

Addressing the incident, the Katsina Customs spokesman, Tahir Balarabe, described it as unfortunate and expressed sympathy for the victim and the Katsina State Government. He assured that a full investigation is underway to determine the immediate and remote cause of the incident. Anyone found responsible will face the full force of the law. The Nigeria Customs Service disapproves of any unprofessional conduct by its officers.

“At the moment, a full investigation is ongoing to unravel the immediate and remote course of the incident, anyone found wanting will be made to face the full wrath of the law,” stated Tahir Balarabe, the Katsina Customs spokesman. “As a reputable organisation, NCS frowns at any form of unprofessionalism on the part of its officers.”

The NCS emphasizes that their officers are well-trained in handling firearms and are expected to adhere to the rules of engagement outlined in their instructions. They reassure all well-meaning Nigerians, especially the people and government of Katsina State, that they can continue their legitimate activities without fear. The NCS will continue to combat economic sabotage and strive to collect maximum revenue for national development.

“Our officers are well-trained in handling firearms and are expected to act by the rules of engagement spelt out in our book of instructions,” added Tahir Balarabe. “We assure all well-meaning Nigerians, especially the good people and the government of Katsina State to go about their legitimate activities as the service will only sustain its onslaught against economic saboteurs and their accomplices while collecting maximum revenue that will be utilized for national development.”
