Popular Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, better known as Davido, has revealed that he still mourns his late son, Ifeanyi Adeleke who died last year.
Recall that Ifeanyi drowned at Davido’s Banana Island mansion in October 2022.
Davido, one of Nigeria’s most popular singers, has opened up about the death of his son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, who drowned at the artist’s mansion in Banana Island last year. In an interview with Omega, Davido revealed that he still cries every time he thinks about his son’s death, admitting that he misses the child every day of his life.
He said many expected his latest album ‘Timeless’ to have a sad theme because of the loss of his son, but he opted for “bangers.”
Despite the pain of Ifeanyi’s death, Davido chose to create energetic music that would make people dance. Many expected him to record a sorrowful theme for his album “Timeless” since the loss of his son, but he chose to make bangers instead.
He said, “I miss him every day, there are tears coming out of my eyes every morning, you don’t have to see it.
“I look at myself in the mirror and I said apart from it just being about me, I know how many people love me, I know how many people are depending on me.
“My son up there is looking down at me. Apart from me being strong for his mom, which is my primary responsibility, I have to be strong for the world.”
Davido talked about the daily anguish of losing his son, saying “I miss him every day, there are tears coming out of my eyes every morning, you don’t have to see it.” He added that he knows how many people love and depend on him, and he must be strong for them. Davido also feels that his late son Ifeanyi watches him from heaven, and he needs to be strong for the world.
Davido added that Ifeanyi and his late mother, Mrs Veronica Adeleke are dancing to his songs in heaven.
