Ex-Commissioner from Kano Rebuts Call for Tinubu to Break Ties with Ganduje

The immediate past Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs in Kano State, Muhammad Garba, has labelled as “mere gimmickry” a recent call made by Kabiru Dakata of the Movement Against Corruption (MACIN), urging President Bola Tinubu to distance himself from the former governor of Kano state, Abdullahi Ganduje.

The former Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs in Kano State, Muhammad Garba, has dismissed a recent call by Kabiru Dakata of the Movement Against Corruption (MACIN) as “mere gimmickry”. Dakata had called on President Bola Tinubu to distance himself from Abdullahi Ganduje, the former governor of Kano state. Garba accused Dakata of being funded to tarnish Ganduje’s reputation.

Responding to the call by MACIN on Sunday, Garba said Dakata is being funded to tarnish Ganduje’s reputation in the eyes of Nigerians. Garba accused Dakata of hiding behind his ‘briefcase’ Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) to launch attacks on the former administration in the state.
“Dakata was recently seeking attention in the media and aiming for a possible appointment in the NNPP government in Kano. His newfound alliance with the NNPP government discredits him even as an analyst on current affairs, where he frequently features on radio programs to criticize the former administration in the state,” Garba said.

Giving his response to the call made by the MACIN, Garba claimed that Dakata is being funded to tarnish Ganduje’s reputation among Nigerians. He accused Dakata of using his Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) as a front to attack the former administration in Kano state. Garba also alleged that Dakata was seeking attention in the media and hoping for a position in the NNPP government in Kano. He emphasized that Dakata’s alliance with the NNPP government undermines his credibility as an analyst on current affairs.

  1. Garba warned the public, especially the NGO community, to be vigilant of individuals who are being paid to operate fake organizations with the intention of discrediting individuals, governments, or organizations.

Garba cautioned the public, particularly the NGO community, to be wary of individuals who are paid to run fake organizations with the aim of discrediting individuals, governments, or organizations.

  1. Garba claimed that Dakata had recently appeared on a popular television station, allegedly sponsored, to justify the NNPP’s demolition activities in Kano.

According to Garba, Dakata had recently made an appearance on a popular television station, allegedly sponsored, where he defended the demolition activities of the NNPP in Kano.

  1. Garba emphasized that President Tinubu and Ganduje shared a common vision and experience in governance and development, which is why they are frequently seen together.

Garba stressed that President Tinubu and Ganduje shared a common vision and experience in governance and development, explaining the reason for their frequent appearances together.

  1. He noted that despite efforts to create a rift between them and hinder Ganduje’s chances of obtaining a political appointment from the President, the two leaders have remained united.

Garba observed that despite attempts to drive a wedge between them and hinder Ganduje’s chances of securing a political appointment from President Tinubu, the two leaders have stayed united.

The former Commissioner concluded noted that both Tinubu and Ganduje are currently attending an ECOWAS Summit in Guinea Bissau.

In response to Garba’s comments, Dakata denied the allegations, stating, “I am not being funded to discredit Ganduje or anyone else. My criticisms are based on my personal convictions and concerns for the betterment of Kano state. I have no hidden agenda or ulterior motives.”

Dakata responded to Garba’s accusations by denying the allegations, affirming that he is not funded to discredit Ganduje or anyone else. He clarified that his criticisms are driven by his personal convictions and concerns for the improvement of Kano state, adding that he has no hidden agenda or ulterior motives.
