Rapper OdumoduBlvck Shares Encounter with Wizkid That Signaled His Stardom
Rising Nigerian hip-hop artiste, OdumoduBlvck has recounted a heartwarming story of how Grammy award-winning singer, Wizkid played a major role in cementing his faith in God to work out his career.
‘I Almost Died Before Becoming Famous’
During the latest episode of the Body & Soul podcast hosted by singer Joeboy, OdumoduBlvck recounted how he survived a major operation that nearly took his life back in 2022. He said that after leaving the hospital, he was informed by friends that Wizkid had approved his song ‘Picanto’ featuring Zlatan Ibile.
The approval was made known to him via social media, and it was the sign God used to tell him that he would be successful. “The day Wizkid posted my stuff was the day I was being discharged from hospital,” he said.
OdumoduBlvck further recounted how he woke up to a message at 7 a.m., saying: “‘Machala’ posted my song on his Instagram page.” The gesture was inspiring and reminded him that God was with him.

He never forgot the pain of the surgery and how he had to eat only baby food for two weeks. OdumoduBlvck also revealed that he had to get sixteen stitches in his mouth. In spite of all these, he remained resolute in his conviction that God had saved him for a purpose.
