Gbajabiamila Applauds Tinubu’s Revolutionary Move in Signing Student’s Loan Bill

The outgone Speaker of the House of Representatives and Chief of Staff-designate to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for signing the Student’s Loan (Access to Higher Education) Bill, 2019 into law.

Femi Gbajabiamila, who is the outgoing Speaker of the House of Representatives and the Chief of Staff-designate to the President, has applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for signing the Student’s Loan (Access to Higher Education) Bill into law.

Gbajabiamila in a statement on Monday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Lanre Lasisi after Tinubu signed the bill, said the future of the country had just been guaranteed and strengthened with the new law as no Nigerian child would be denied access to tertiary education on account of lack of financial resources.

Gbajabiamila, in a statement through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Lanre Lasisi, expressed his belief that no Nigerian child would be barred from higher education because of a lack of financial resources.

According to Gbajabiamila, who initiated the bill, President Tinubu has shown enough determination and empathy with Nigerians to deliver good governance, considering the people-oriented and life-changing legislation he has signed into law within the short period of his assumption of office.

The initiator of the bill, Gbajabiamila, acknowledged President Tinubu for his compassion and determination to deliver good governance to Nigeria. The Speaker noted that the President’s signature on “people-oriented and life-changing legislation” in such a short period of assuming office confirmed his determination and empathy with Nigerians.

In the statement, Gbajabiamila observed that due to the high cost of living in Nigeria coupled with the hardship being faced by the unemployed and low-income earners, access to quality higher education had been challenging and sometimes unattainable.

Gbajabiamila pointed out that the high cost of living in Nigeria, coupled with the struggles of the unemployed and low-income earners, has made higher education unattainable for many Nigerians.

The legislation provides for the establishment of the Nigerian Education Fund, domiciled with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) from which qualified applicants can access education loans through the commercial banks in the country.

The bill established the Nigerian Education Fund, which is domiciled with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). Through the commercial banks in the country, qualified applicants can access loans for higher education.

Gbajabiamila noted that a well-educated citizenry was critical to national development and our nation’s ability to compete in the global economy, arguing that higher education should be regarded as a public good benefiting the entire country rather than a commodity solely benefiting the individual recipients.

Gbajabiamila stressed the importance of higher education as a public good that benefits the whole nation, rather than individuals alone. He added that a well-educated citizenry was critical to national development and our nation’s ability to compete in the global economy.

“When the actions of the President are viewed critically and without prejudice, it is reassuring that Nigerians are bound to enjoy good governance if the Legislature and the Executive will continue this symbiotic relationship that has brought massive change into governance within such a short period in the life of this administration.

Gbajabiamila stated that Nigerians would enjoy good governance if the symbiotic relationship between the Legislature and the Executive continues to exist. The politician added that this relationship has brought substantial reforms into the government within such a short period in the administration.

Gbajabiamila however noted that considering the patriotic steps and decisions made so far by the President, Nigerians should keep supporting and praying for the President in his strides to bring to bear good governance for the benefit of the greater majority of Nigerians.

In a concluding remark, Gbajabiamila urged Nigerians to support and pray for President Tinubu in his efforts to improve good governance in Nigeria and benefit the greater majority of Nigerians.
