Super Falcons Squad Released for FIFA Women’s World Cup
The Super Falcons Chief Coach, Randy Waldrum, has unveiled the 23-man squad for the FIFA Women’s World Cup set to be held in Australia and New Zealand. This eagerly anticipated list was recently released by the Nigerian Football Federation via Twitter and it has caused quite a stir.
The Super Falcons Team
The team consists of many renowned players such as Francisca Ordega, Assiat Oshoala, Ashleigh Plumptre, Onome Ebi, Desire Oparanozie, Chiamaka Nnadozie, Rasheedat Ajibade, Uchenna Kanu, Christy Ucheibe, and Gift Monday. Also included are Halimatu Ayinde, Ifeoma Onumonu, Toni Payne, Jennifer Echegini, Michelle Alozie, Tochukwu Oluehi, Yetunde Balogun, Deborah Abiodun, Rofiat Imuran, Osinachi Ohale, Ijeoma Okoronkwo, and Tosin Demehin.
Group Matches
The Super Falcons must play co-host Australia, Olympic champions Canada, and debutant Republic of Ireland in Group A. Their first match will be against Canada on July 21. Then they face Australia on July 27, before ending their group matches against the Republic of Ireland on July 31.
