Guardiola Makes Bold Promise: Man City Won’t Back Down in Battle to Retain Kyle Walker

Manchester City Determined to Keep Kyle Walker from Joining Bayern Munich

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, emphasized on Tuesday that the club will do everything in their power to prevent Kyle Walker from moving to Bayern Munich, describing the defender as an essential player for the team. Walker, who played as a substitute in City’s Champions League final victory, has attracted interest from the German champions. Guardiola praised the 33-year-old’s unique qualities and acknowledged that both clubs are in contact regarding the potential transfer. He stated, “We will fight for him like I’m pretty sure Bayern will. I don’t know how it is going to finish.”

When asked about Walker’s availability for the upcoming match against Bayern, Guardiola was confident and responded, “Of course, he’s our player. We need the best players. He’s our player and we hope he’s going to stay all the season with us, so why should he not play?”

Bayern Munich Eyeing Harry Kane as Another Premier League Target

Bayern Munich’s interest in the Premier League continues as they set their sights on Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane. The German champions are keen on signing England’s record scorer, who has a contract with Spurs until 2024. While reports suggest that Kane’s camp has approved the move, Bayern must negotiate a transfer fee with Tottenham to finalize the deal. Bayern’s technical director Marco Neppe and CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen did not join the team on their trip to Asia, indicating their involvement in crucial negotiations. When questioned about the duo’s absence, Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel remained cryptic, simply stating that they were “doing something necessary in Munich to support us.”

Although Guardiola acknowledged Kane’s exceptional talent, he refrained from further discussion on the matter. He stated, “He is a Tottenham Hotspur player. I understand Bayern always wants to take the best players in the world, so Harry Kane is one of them. I cannot say anymore. He is not our player. I can talk about Kyle, but Harry Kane is not my business so I’m sorry.”

Manchester City’s Asian Tour and Bayern Munich’s Upcoming Fixtures

Manchester City started their Asian tour on a positive note with a 5-3 win against J-League Champions Yokohama F-Marinos. Following their clash with Bayern Munich in Tokyo, they will head to Seoul to face Atletico Madrid. Bayern, after their match against City, will play J-League side Kawasaki Frontale in Tokyo and subsequently travel to Singapore for a game against Liverpool.
