The Guinness World Records on Tuesday announced Hilda Baci the new record holder for the longest cooking by an individual.
The aroma that came from Hilda Baci’s kitchen could be perceived from a distance. Her dishes could make even the most discerning food critic drool in anticipation. Her love for food had taken her to new heights as she became the new holder of the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon.
Guinness World Records released a statement on their website stating, “Following a thorough review of all the evidence, Guinness World Records can now confirm that Hilda Effiong Bassey, better known as Hilda Baci, has officially broken the record for the longest cooking marathon (individual), with a time of 93 hours 11 minutes.”
Hilda, a 26-year-old Nigerian chef, started her cooking marathon on Thursday 11 May and continued through to Monday 15 May. Over the course of four days, she cooked over 100 pots of food.
Although Hilda had set her sights on completing a record of 100 hours, she was deducted almost seven hours from her total time because she mistakenly took some extra time for one of her rest breaks early on in the attempt. Nevertheless, she persevered and set a new record.
The Nigerian chef has made history and has inspired many to challenge themselves in their respective fields.
