Ministerial Nominees Rushed to Complete Documentation as FG Sets Stage for Intense Screening

The Race to Document: Ministerial Nominees Urged to Complete Necessary Processes

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate), Senator Abdullahi Gumel, has called on the ministerial nominees to expedite their documentation. In a statement issued on Friday, Senator Gumel disclosed that the documentation process for all ministerial nominees has already begun.

The nominees have been directed to visit the office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate) at the National Assembly complex between Friday 28 and Sunday 30 July in order to complete the necessary documentation ahead of the screening, which is scheduled to commence on Monday, July 31, 2023.

In his statement, Senator Gumel emphasized the importance of completing all the necessary processes before the screening. He announced that the office will be open throughout the weekend for this purpose. This gesture is intended to ensure that all nominees have sufficient time to finalize their documentation before the screening begins.

Tinubu Submits Ministerial List to the National Assembly

Channels Television recently reported that President Bola Tinubu, through his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, has submitted the ministerial list to the National Assembly. The list consists of 28 members and includes four former governors among other nominees who are set to make up the cabinet.

In a bid to ensure a balanced representation, Tinubu’s selection includes 25% women and 75% men. Notable women on the list are Betta Edu, Doris Aniche Uzoka, Hannatu Musawa, Nkiru Onyeojiocha, Stella Okotete, Nkiru Onyeojiocha, Uju Kennedy Ohaneye, and Iman Suleiman Ibrahim.

It is worth noting that the submission of the list to the National Assembly effectively meets the constitutional deadline of July 28, 2023, which marks the end of the 60-day period.

APC Spokesman Comments on Party Crisis
