Niger United and Safety Babes Dominate Handball League Table

Niger United Dominates First Phase with Impressive Victory Over Correction Boys

Niger United showcased their dominance in the league as they secured a commanding 33-23 win against Correction Boys, solidifying their place at the top of the league table with a total of 30 points at the end of the first phase.

In a nail-biting clash, Safety Shooters managed to overcome Confluence Stars with a narrow 23-22 victory, putting them just two points behind the league leaders on 28 points.

Lagos Tojemarine Academy finished in an impressive third position with 27 points after comfortably dispatching Benue Buffaloes with a convincing 28-19 triumph. Meanwhile, local rivals Lagos Seasiders also clinched 27 points, securing fourth place following a thrilling 34-32 victory over Bendel Dynamos.

Despite a hard-fought win against Police Machine, defending champions Kano Pillars slipped down to fifth position, now trailing behind the leading teams in the table.

In a stunning display, Sokoto Rima Strikers outscored De Defenders with an emphatic 41-27 triumph, securing seventh place in the league.

Niger United Celebrates MVPs

Aminu Aliyu of Niger United and Ada Okey of Safety Babes were named the Most Valuable Players of the Day, earning recognition for their outstanding performances.

Women’s Category: Safety Babes Maintain League Dominance

In the women’s category, Safety Babes continued their impressive run with a commanding 33-20 victory over Sokoto Rima Queens, maintaining their position at the top of the table with 27 points.

Defender Babes slipped to second place after losing ground with 25 points, while Rima Queens maintained their hold on third position with 23 points.

Seasider Babes celebrated a thrilling 31-27 triumph over Bendel Dynamos, securing sixth place in the league standings.

The highly-anticipated final phase, which will determine the league champion, is scheduled to take place in Lagos later this year.
