The London-based club officially announced the signing on Friday evening, expressing their delight at securing the services of the talented player.

“The Club is delighted to confirm the signing of Calvin Bassey from Ajax for an undisclosed fee, subject to international clearance, which is expected to be received during the early part of next week,” read the club’s official statement.

The 23-year-old Bassey, who previously played for Ajax and Rangers, has agreed to a contract that will keep him at Fulham until the summer of 2027, with an option to extend for an additional year. Bassey will don the number three shirt for the upcoming season.

Upon completing the move, Bassey expressed his joy and excitement at joining Fulham, describing it as a “big” club and feeling like being back “home.” Bassey acknowledged the quality of players at the club, as well as the opportunity to compete in the highly competitive Premier League.

During his tenure at Ajax, Bassey showcased his skills and versatility, featuring in 39 competitive games, scoring a goal, and providing five assists. He also boasts an impressive record at the national team level, having made ten appearances for the Super Eagles, three-time African champions.
