The former Chief of Staff to the Imo State Government, Uche Nwosu has urged Nigerians to be patient with the Bola Tinubu administration over the suspension of the Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele.
According to Nwosu, allegations that Tinubu carried out his decisions due to a personal vendetta are misplaced. He insisted that Tinubu being the president has to sanitize wherever he can and surround himself with a team he can work with.
Uche Nwosu, former Chief of Staff to the Imo State government, has called on Nigerians to have patience with President Bola Tinubu’s administration over the recent suspension of Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele. Nwosu dismissed speculations that Tinubu’s decision was influenced by a personal vendetta.
“It would be rather presumptuous to suggest that the President is carrying out a vendetta. As the President, he needs to sanitize wherever he can and surround himself with a team he can work with. Investigating someone for wrongdoing does not amount to vendetta,” Nwosu said.
Nwosu also allayed fears that the reopening of Nigeria’s border may further cripple the already fragile economy. He maintained that the reopening would bolster job creation and afford Nigerians the opportunity to divert their focus back on local production.
“The closure of the border has affected thousands of Nigerians who lost their jobs, including those who would sell Mama-put by the side of the road. The President’s decision to reopen the border will offer a solution and at the same time allow us to focus on what we can produce locally. We have grown accustomed to local rice, and we’ll continue to produce our rice,” Nwosu added.
Patience, not panic, is what Nigerians need in the coming weeks.
