Oluomo Returns for Second Term as Ogun Assembly Speaker

The immediate past Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Olakunle Oluomo has been reelected as the speaker of the 10th Legislature while Bolanle Ajayi from Yewa South State Constituency elected as Deputy Speaker.

Olakunle Oluomo, the much-loved and respected former Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, has been reelected as the Speaker of the 10th Legislature. This comes as no surprise to many as Oluomo has shown tremendous leadership qualities and a deep commitment to the development of the State. Joining him in his new post is Bolanle Ajayi, who hails from the Yewa South State Constituency and has been elected as Deputy Speaker. With the two seasoned politicians at the helm, many can’t help but feel optimistic about the direction the state is headed.

The new speaker and deputy were elected by the 26 member-house on the floor of the Assembly presided over by the Clerk, Deji Adeyemo.

In a process that was as transparent as it was efficient, the 26-member House elected the new leaders on the floor of the assembly. The Clerk, Deji Adeyemo presided over the election, ensuring that nothing was left to chance.

Giving his maiden address, Oluomo assured members and the executive arm of government of purposeful leadership for socio-economic and political development of the state.
