Soludo Takes Urgent Action, Orders Special Counselling Session for Mmesoma Amid UTME Result Forgery Scandal

The Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has directed that Mmesoma Joy Ejikeme be handed over to the State Guidance Counselor for counselling following her admission of faking her Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) result.

The governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has taken action in response to the admission of Mmesoma Joy Ejikeme, who faked her UTME result. He has ordered that she be handed over to the State Guidance Counselor for counseling.

This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Anambra State Ministry of Education, Nnaemeka Egwuonwu, and made available to Channels Television.

He stated that in a letter to the Principal of Anglican Girls Secondary School Nnewi, Governor Soludo further directed the immediate commencement of psychological counselling and therapy sessions for Mmesoma.

Nnaemeka Egwuonwu, the Public Relations Officer of the Anambra State Ministry of Education, confirmed this information in a statement. The statement was made available to Channels Television.

Governor Soludo’s letter to the Principal of Anglican Girls Secondary School Nnewi also included the instruction to start psychological counselling and therapy sessions for Mmesoma.

The Governor in the letter signed by the Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, also directed that Mmesoma be handed over to a Professor of Clinical Psychology.

The Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, co-signed the letter with Governor Soludo. They also instructed that Mmesoma be handed over to a Professor of Clinical Psychology.

This directive aligns with one of the recommendations from the Committee established by the Anambra State Government to investigate the matter. The matter caused a stir in the general public when the fake results were made public.

The committee of inquiry, which was set up by the Anambra State Government to investigate the examination fraud involving Mmesoma, confirmed that she manipulated her UTME result. She claimed a score of 362 when her actual score was 249.

The Committee’s eight-page report stated that Mmesoma admitted to faking her result using her phone.

JAMB Reacts

Following the report from the Anambra State Committee of Inquiry that indicted Mmesoma, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) expressed vindication and reinforced their position that their system cannot be compromised.

JAMB faced criticism for initially declaring Mmesoma a fraud. However, in a statement released on Saturday, they asserted that they would not be discouraged, despite the fact that some individuals were trying to tarnish the Board’s reputation.
