A divorce-seeking businessman, Chuka Emmanuel on Thursday, prayed a Customary Court in Jikwoyi Abuja, to dissolve his marriage to his wife, Jane, whom he accused of remarrying secretly.
Chuka Emmanuel, a businessman based in Abuja is seeking a divorce from his wife, Jane. He claimed that Jane secretly remarried without his knowledge or consent. He brought his case before a Customary Court in Jikwoyi, Abuja.
Chuka the petitioner in his divorce petition, said, “my wife moved out of our house without informing me.
Chuka alleged that Jane abandoned their matrimonial home without notice.
“I later found her new location, when I got there I realize that she had married another man and already has a baby for him.
Chuka claimed that he discovered Jane’s whereabouts and found out that she was already married and had a child with another man.
“It is on this grounds that I seek to dissolve the marriage between us.”
He is now seeking to dissolve their marriage based on these grounds.
He told the court that his wife left him and their three children in 2020.
“I have been the one taking care of the children, I don’t want anyone to poison their minds against me, I beg this court to stop my wife from coming to my house to see my children in my absence.
“I beg this honourable court to dissolve the marriage and grant me custody of my three sons.” he pleaded.
Chuka informed the court that Jane left him and their three children in 2020 and he has been taking care of them ever since. He expressed concerns that Jane’s presence in the house could be detrimental to their well-being. He, therefore, urged the court to grant him custody of their three sons.
The presiding judge, Mr Labaran Gusau, adjourned the matter until June 22, for further hearing.
