President Bola Tinubu has touched down in Paris, France for the two-day New Global Financial Pact summit. Upon arrival at 6:47pm local time, the Nigerian President was received by Ambassador Kayode Laro and other top government officials from the Nigerian Embassy and French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
This summit presents an opportunity for world leaders to review and sign a New Global Financial Pact that prioritizes vulnerable countries for support and investment. This is in light of the energy crisis, climate change, and the COVID-19 pandemic, whose effects have been devastating.
President Tinubu’s Special Adviser, Dele Alake, stated that during the Paris visit, the Nigerian President will seek to explore opportunities to restore fiscal space to countries that are facing short-term financial challenges, including the most indebted.
President Tinubu, accompanied by members of the Presidential Policy Advisory Council and other government officials, is expected to return to Nigeria on Saturday.
