Sometimes, I feel like I’m barely keeping my head above water. Every day, there’s a new assignment, test, and new deadline to meet. And on top of all of that, I’m expected to maintain a social life and take care of my mental health.
It’s not easy, is it? As a student in Nigeria, I know that I’m not alone in dealing with the stress and pressures of academic life. But what I’ve realized is that sometimes, we need to take a step back and prioritize our well-being.
Anxiety is one of the biggest mental health challenges I’ve faced in university. It creeps up on me at the most unexpected times – during a lecture, while I’m studying, and even when I’m out with friends. It’s like a black cloud that follows me wherever I go, threatening to overwhelm me at any moment.
